Blog Support Team

Today I am happy to introduce you to the team of people who worked with patience, diligence and dedication to restructure, renew, redesign and relaunch the blog. Thanks to our modern technology this could be done in partnership between people living in Asia as well as in Europe.

This blog is a continuation of the work started by Anne and Sebastian with the support of Peter Petersen and Khordong.de when they created the Chhimed Rigdzin Society Website which still exists today and contains a lot of informations about the gompa, Rinpoche and the lineage.

Few years later, in order to have more flexibility in the publication of articles and pictures about the activities taking place at Khordong Byangter Monastere also known as "Gompaland" the blog was created by Alexis and Nathalie with the support of Virginie.

6 years later and numerous articles published, came the time to revisit the blog and give it a new breath for the years to come. This time Soo, Caroline and Marie joined the team to redesign the banner, saveguard all pictures and articles.

This blog is key to inform you of the activities happening here throughout the year. The gompa and the monks are still in there infant stage, but it is fully functioning observing daily offerings and rituals. Performing pujahs for famillies requesting for them, observing the main celebrations of the Buddhist calendar and of course teaching our novices while looking after the land, the cattle and the crops.

Eventhough Alexis and Nathalie do not live here with us anymore, we stay regularly in touch and I shall feed them with pictures and stories to publish so that you all can stay closely connected with us and aware of our calendar and evolution.

Festival of Lights and the 24th Butterlamp retreat announcement

Hello Everyone,

Today the whole of India celebrates Diwali- the festival of lights.
It is also a day during which dogs are honored.
So in Khordong Byangter Monastery and at Tulku Ugen Chencho's house both were celebrated.



Dogs got a treat with nice sandwiches and got offered with a flowers necklace.

Chhimed Rigzin Rinpoche's Stupa got prepared all day to be illuminated for the night.

We shall take the opportunity of this day full of light to announce:

The 24th Butterlamp Retreat at Khordong Byangter Monastery from December 31st, 2014 to January 15th, 2015.

Please note that from this year onwards the schedule of the retreat shall always start on the 10th day of the tibetan 11th month and end on the 25th day of the same month.

Over this 15 days period all 111,111 butterlamps shall be duly offered.
As every year sponsorship to purchase the Dalda to fill up the lamps, to purchase the wood to melt the Dalda and cook for the participants and to purchase the Tsog offerings are very much needed.

Journey to the Source

Hello everyone,

On this auspicious day of Choekhor Duchen, The Chhimed Rigdzin Society is happy to announce the opening of its Youtube channel.

This channel is dedicated to the upload of content in relation with the Khordong Byangter lineage in particular and the Buddha Dharma at large.

We are happy to share with you the first uploaded video:

“Journey to the source of the Khordong Byangter Lineage” from India to Kham. This video was shot in 2010 while the Khordong Monastery was in the last phase of its reconstruction.

As the title says this film will take you from the Khordong Byangter Monastery established in India by H.H Chhimed Rigdzin Rinpoche to the source of the Khordong lineage. Places of Chhimed Rigdzin Rinpoche’s childhood but also places visited by Padmasambhava and places from where Terchen Tulku Nuden Dorje Drophan Lingpa revealed his terma teachings.

May this film revives your connection with your teacher and the lineage of the teachings he taught.
May this film connects you with the holy places he came from.
